The UV light bulb in the Lumin typically has a longer life expectancy than the Lumin itself; however, if the light bulb does burn out due to some unforeseeable reason, it is replaceable. One of the great things about the Lumin CPAP cleaner is that it is very low maintenance. The only real maintenance that the unit requires is wiping out the light tray and keeping the outside of the Lumin dust-free by wiping it off when you do your regular home dusting.
Though the Lumin does sanitize your CPAP equipment, sometimes oil or hair can accumulate in your face mask. Additionally, calcification or water deposits can build-up inside your water chamber if you are not using the correct water type. These particles, if not wiped away from the CPAP equipment before putting them in the light tray of the Lumin, could fall off and contaminate the bin. You should use a lightly dampened soft cloth to help clean any of this debris away before running a sanitizing cycle.
